| 18715 | 2001-09-13 00:01:00 | I am getting a blank screen instead of my logo screens on shutdown, had it once before but can't remember how to get them back, some thing to do with an alteration in the Registry I believe. | Guest (0) | ||

Conversely, is the machine powering off automatically? The key question to me is this: If it is powering down properly and not running scandisk on startup, then you probably don't have a serious problem, given that it could be difficult to resolve. If it isn't shutting down properly, it could be a program running in the background that isn't closing correctly. Have you installed any new software recently? Let me know, Rob |

| 18717 | 2001-09-13 05:17:00 | Thanks Rob for getting back to me.My computer is powering down properly and scandisk doesn't run at start-up. I am running a program called '1st Impressions' which lets me change the logos at startup and shutdown and have been doing so for a couple of years. The last time this happened I came across the same problem somebody else had in a letter to a magazine and the answer given was just to alter a figure in the Registry and it worked, it was a 1 to a 0 or vise versa. I just can't find the place to do the alteration. I have been re-installing a lot of programs because I am now running Windows Me. It is not a serious problem but I miss my colourful logos.
