I often see references to the temperature that CPU chips are running at. Does Windows have software built in that one can monitor the temperature the processor is running at? |

Windows does not come with software to detect CPU temperature, but most m/boards come with a driver CD which usually contains a program that will do this for you. Or do a search on downloads.com for a hardware monitor. |

Of course you need a motherboard that has a temperature sensor under the CPU socket, else the software is no use :-) |
