18622 2001-09-11 06:21:00 I've read a posting on this in the past but never actually got a solution out of it.
Whenever my client shutsdown, my server would freeze in around 30 seconds.
I'm using 100/10bps fast ethernet cards on TCP/IP with ICS installed.
Also I found another problem with my network, whenever i try to access files from my client to the server, i'd have to wait for over 5 mins till something pops up, but then it's extremely slow. I have set both my cards on full duplex.
My Client is: P166MMX 64 MBs ram on win 98 SE
My host is: athlon t-bird 1ghz, 256 sd ram on win 98 SE.

Any help would be much appreciated, thx

18623 2001-09-11 19:45:00 If you are using a crossover cable it should be on half duplex Guest (0)
18624 2001-09-12 05:33:00 why should it be half duplex?? Guest (0)
18625 2001-09-12 12:22:00 not sure about the crash prob but you will proberly find the file and print sharing working a whole lot better with netbeui installed. don't forget to unbind the correct protocols so your file sharing isn't open to the net. keep the file/print, share netbeui only and lan only.
