| 19176 | 2001-09-21 09:38:00 | I'm running Win98SE on a Pentium 100 with 32mb RAM and having no problems at all. Can't do much multitasking, but if you just use it for one program at a time it should be okay, although a 75 may struggle, I'm not sure... | Guest (0) | ||

| 19178 | 2001-09-21 21:14:00 | I used to run win98 on a 386, and dreamed of having something as powerfull as a pentium 75. sure it's slow, but if you set things up right it's a great way to learn about the things that really slow a computer down, like antivirus programs and IE 4.0 or higher, or too many startup programs, and don't install all of office 97, just word is enough, turn of things like office fast find, task sheduler, etc. this is all for fun, and experimenting is the best way to learn. Go ahead and try win 98, you can always go back to 95 but I bet you never will, you'll more likely start upgrading your computer. | Guest (0) | ||

If we were doing more than playing games, browsing the web through the host machine and playing music it may slow down, but for all that it seems to be fine. Picked up the PC for nothing as a dead unit (so they thought), reformatted it and installed win98se, never looked back. |
