19157 2001-09-21 05:59:00 A 386 given to me is all ok. except the floppy which firstly said 'it was not accessible' then 'the device is not ready' and now ' the disc is not formatted do you want me to format it now?' I know the discs are ok. however to go along I ticked ok. Now I get 'windows could not format this disc, either the selected capacity is not valid for this disc ( it is), or the disc is damaged (it isn't)...Win 95 systems tell me its working ok.with no conflicts ?? 19158 2001-09-21 08:01:00 It might be crapped but before you throw it out check the power supply and data cable to the A drive and the other end of the data cable into the motherboard. I had a problem just recently where i was getting the same sort of messages, but after getting inside and checking the above mentioned cables it all came right. Worth a look see Guest (0)
19159 2001-09-21 08:05:00 I've had this before in old 386's too, check the bios is setup for the right type of floppy. Guest (0)
