| 1278577 | 2012-05-30 22:15:00 | So my current main pc uses a Asus P5K Premium board with a core2 duo cpu on it, When I finish with the pc I turn it off at the wall but I seem to have an issue when I turn it back on it sometimes says that the clock is wrong, Normally I would say it was the CMOS battery however sometimes when it is turned on it does not have the error and the time in Windows is correct. Any thoughts? |

| 1278578 | 2012-05-30 22:19:00 | What says the clock is wrong? The BIOS or windows? If windows says its wrong, I would check the time in the BIOS. And make sure the timezone is NZ in windows | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

| 1278582 | 2012-05-30 22:55:00 | Have you tried not turning it off at the wall? In any case the battery is the most likely suspect, if you have a multimeter take it out and measure the voltage. They should be cheap enough so I'd replace it anyway. Batteries can "recover" a bit when taken off load so it might depend how long you leave it turned off if it's nearly flat. I have seen motherboards with rechargeable cmos batteries as well, but not for a few years now. |

| 1278586 | 2012-05-31 06:00:00 | If the battery is marginal it's probably supplying enough power only sometimes | Agent_24 (57) | ||
