1256516	2012-01-29 23:33:00	I want to put in a larger capacity SD card in my Android phone, and want to know the correct way to do it. Under "Settings" there is "Unmount SD card for safe removal" - so that I will do. My question is this: Can I unmount the old SD card, copy the contents onto my PC's hard drive, then transfer the data onto the new SD card, insert into the phone and all will be OK? Android 2.2.2 Motorola Defy - great phone BTW, especially considering the low purchase price, photo and video quality and that it is virtually waterproof and drop proof. Thanks	Strommer (42)
1256517	2012-01-29 23:39:00	I think the Unmount is in case you want to do it while its going. I'd turn the phone off, remove card, and replace with new card. The Android phone I have, you plug in the charger Via a USB port on the PC, and then activate the USB connection, simply copy the contents from the card to your PC, then put in the new card and transfer back. Did this (kind of) from my phone to SWMBO's -- Copied the folders I had made on the SD card, transfered across the LAN to her PC, then simply dropped them into her phone.	wainuitech (129)

1256519	2012-01-30 00:15:00	Wainui and deSade - thanks for the quick replies. The software most likely does have a backup and restore option, so I will check it out. However the first time I used the software I misread one of the options and deleted a few photos at the start of my holiday in Malaysia - therefore I simply used Windows Explorer to download pics.
