| 1256300 | 2012-02-03 19:37:00 | Well I arrived in Christchurch yesterday fro the weekend, leaving again on Monday to back to Nelson and so far I haven't seen a single communist I'm guessing they must have all gone to Ngauranga Gorge for the holiday weekend | gary67 (56) | ||

You appear to be supporting the communist line of the Red Reverned here Prefect, that is you think people shouldn't be paid market rates and voters shouldn't get to determine who is the leader (yes they voted for the Mayor). I'm not exactly enthralled with the Wellington mayor - but I recognise the majority wanted her and therefore she can ride her mayoral bike around town for the next three years. I might think our CEO is paid a bit too much - but I could have applied for the job and cut my own salary if I was successful. But looks certainly looks like your commie leanings are starting to show Prefect - at best you're to the left of Jim Anderton at the moment, your new spiritual mentor. I am a communist like Hitler loved juden or the Pope an atheist. |

Plenty of roads to test your suspension out east and lots of road works around but hope you enjoy your visit. Cheers | Iantech (16386) | ||
| 1256305 | 2012-02-03 22:26:00 | I find it very amusing the fact that the trouble we are in now in regards of the global economy came about because of controls coming off the USA banking system on their request allowing the stupid sub-prime mortgage caper. We as a country would be a lot better off if the Governor of the reserve bank would reduce the interest rates making it less profitable to invest here so bringing the dollar down. So much for the market led economy when the Gov can have such influence. Please also explain if the American way is so great why do they have so many trillion of debt. Ok - it is a little unclear what your argument is - but you appear to be saying the Government should intervene to prevent people taking on high risk mortgages. The counter argument is surely people should be allowed to invest their money in whatever shonky scheme they like, if they want to take the risk. Goverment debt has hardly been helped by Governments taking over debt from failed finance companies and the like - they should have let them fall over. People who get greedy with high risk investments should suffer the downside of their risk taking. So the short answer is the American Government is in debt for following the sort of idiotic policies you are advocating. |
