| 1256270 | 2012-01-29 06:36:00 | They even still talk about equal pay for female workers. Back in the 1970's our company was one of the first to bring equal pay for female staff on a graduated time frame. It was fully applied over a 3 year span I think at the time ( 40 years ago, lol). Lurking. Ps. glad to be receiving Rob's super. lurks. |

(actually it turned out rather long...:p ) How can those that are not or have not lived through what the chch people have lived through, how can they have a comment....... and to try and dictate to what should be happening down there when you, me and the rest of NZ do not live there, and have not lived the earthquake crisis....... we have not been affected at all, we still have showers, lawns to mow, jobs to go to, and probably a far more perfect house and lifestyle than most chch have had for a long time... How can you sit back and say........ they suck... it seems to me the rich are still getting richer and the normal joe blogs of the city are still being ignored... |

They certainly do apply at lower levels - but usually you get a better deal when you first sign up, you inevitably seem to lose ground if you stay with one employer too long. Good managers in competitive areas like IT, pay their staff well and look after them, otherwise they lose them to someone who will. | Twelvevolts (5457) | ||

Christchurch is not communist by this link: www.stuff.co.nz Me thinks they are waiting for the east side to sink in the mire, then they will take land in the west under the Public Works Act, but at going Market Value, rofl. | 1256277 | 2012-02-01 00:46:00 | www.stuff.co.nz They should just make this Reverend Mike Coleman CEO and Mayor. Think of the benefits - he'll do both jobs for nothing and he'll likely run the soup kitchen into the bargain. Go for it Christchurch, you're on to a winner. |

| 1256278 | 2012-02-01 18:32:00 | Good to see Mike Hosking getting stuck into the "small town navel-gazing" protest in Christchurch yesterday that was "whining about $68 grand". These protestors should get on and do something positive for their city, if they don't like democracy tough sh*t. Good to see Nick Smith staying out of it as well. | Twelvevolts (5457) | ||
| 1256279 | 2012-02-01 21:00:00 | Don't forget the company that recommended the pay rise also take money off the council for other services and there was a clear conflict of interest yet sideshow Bob didn't seem to think that it mattered when he was interviewed by Campbell live the other night These are the same companies recommending the same insane ANNUAL pay rises for our MP's - using the exact same arguments for doing so !!! some questions that need to be answered What could the CEO of CHCH really earn if he had to find another job . Why not have a FIXED SALARY 3 year contract ?? no bounus's, no pay rises. What does the same job pay in Aus, UK ?? how can you really justify any bonus , he's doing his job, exactly what hes paid to do.. Did he start working 80 hours a week ?? Is CHCH now running at a profit ?? Is he that special that he simply couldnt be replaced ?? Isnt all he's doing,is just overseeing the tier of managers below him ?? |
