1279031 2012-06-03 11:18:00 Take the back bracket off *troll*

But seriously you can get low profile ones: www.newegg.com (can't buy it from newegg obv. but its just an example).

1279032 2012-06-03 11:27:00 i know you can take brackets off, i need to know should i get gt520 or 6450 fan on ,9800gt lp fan wil get to close to my ram jxer4567 (16665)
1279033 2012-06-03 11:41:00 You have a small form factor pc? Get 6450 in my opinion. Slankydudl (16687)
1279034 2012-06-03 11:44:00 I'm going to say 6450 fan then. Having a fanless gpu for gaming is asking for trouble. Kind of seems like a waste of money really. Personally I'd try to grab a 2nd hand 478 socket board of trademe cheep and a old tower case. Then buy a decent gpu. icow (15313)
1279035 2012-06-03 11:55:00 I always get gpus with a fan this sff has sata ddr2 lga775 nd big hdds im savin up for a new rig but i need a cheap gpu for now until i get a new rig jxer4567 (16665)

Fanless does have the advantage that the fan can't fail.

1279037 2012-06-03 13:12:00 Yeah but fand gpus are the same as fanless, but with a fan. Slankydudl (16687)

No, fanless cards have much bigger heatsinks. A normal card has a heatsink too small to run without a fan.

1279039 2012-06-03 22:46:00 That's right- my heatsink is 4 cm high, you can get a GT 520 with a fan and it's smaller. It's better for overclocking too, but in your small form factor case that wouldn't be a good idea.

GT 520 is better than the 6450.

GT 520 Specs:

Core clock: 810 MHz
Shader Clock: 1620 MHz
Effective Memory Clock: 1333 MHz (can vary between cards e.g. a Zotac card is 1400 MHz)

HD 6450 Specs:

Core Clock: 625 MHz
Effective Memory clock: 1333 MHz (can vary between cards also)

They are roughly about the same price on trade me. The GT 520 is the better card usually.
