1279221 2012-06-03 21:57:00 Ahh, well you know now that they aren't. Yeah, my new mobo says it can have quad SLI but only 3 PCI-Ex16 slots and 1 PCI-Ex1. ChazTheGeek (16619)
1279222 2012-06-03 23:15:00 I figured pcie 1x slots were for other things such as network cards.

That's because they are. Pci-e 1x graphics cards aren't exactly common. The fact you see people cutting up pci-e 16x cards to make them work should tell you that.

1279223 2012-06-04 01:49:00 lol could you imagine somone wanting quad sli and cutting up there amazing 680 to fit in the pcie 1x slot. Slankydudl (16687)
1279224 2012-06-04 01:52:00 No, that..that is blasphemes. Terrible. Do people really do that, they better not. ChazTheGeek (16619)
1279225 2012-06-04 02:48:00 Id hope only for a very low powered card... a 680 would be soooo rediculiously bottle necked on pcie 1x Slankydudl (16687)
1279226 2012-06-04 04:08:00 Ha ha yeah :nerd:. All that power and only can work at a slower 1x mode :eek: Dude, I don't even want to think about it.:waughh: ChazTheGeek (16619)
1279227 2012-06-04 06:49:00 The bandwidth difference between PCI & PCI-e is worth considering IMO KarameaDave (15222)
