1278789 2012-06-01 04:01:00 I think Bravia sync is a feature of the TV. Its probably this (esupport.sony.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1278790 2012-06-01 04:03:00 A Corgi is not a REAL dog ... a REAL dog must come above knee height whilst sitting next to it's master ... but the TV looks OK ... :D SP8's (9836)

a) what about the price...

and b) Yep - can't abide bending down to pat dogs..... That's why I've had four Irish Wolfhounds in my time (brough two across from the UK when I came out)

1278793 2012-06-01 04:26:00 Bravia sync I believe means it will communicate over HDMI to compatible Sony Devices like Blu-Ray so you can use one remote for both without having to set it up, I found out by accident my sony TV remote will drive my panasonic blu-ray so there must be a standard for sending control signals over HDMI.

I'm pretty sure HD ready refers to TV's that don't have freeview tuners and therefore needed a set-top box for HD TV, not common any more.

720P I think doesn't refer to one specific resolution but several and both 1280x720 and 1366x768 both count as 720P
Anything higher than DVD resolution is HD
Full HD is 1080P, dunno what they'll call it when a higher standard comes out

To see the difference between 720P and 1080P at normal viewing distances the average person requires a 50" or better screen, however if you use it as a TV monitor then the difference is very obvious at any size due to the different icon size and text resolution.

You hit the nail on the head with that SP8's! If I could have had a quid or dollar for every time someone has said "You could put a saddle on that and ride it" I could have afforded to retire early! Mind you, it took me a few years to realize they were talking about the dogs and not the wife!! :D!

Thanks for the link

Thanks for that Dugi.

The physical setup of the room dictates that we can "never look at" a 50"+ TV, whatever the price!

1278797 2012-06-01 05:35:00 The advert I'm looking at is in the local paper and is (or so it says) Sony KDL32BX350 HD LCD 32" - doesn't say anything about HD "Ready" Stated Res is 1366x768

Do you mean this (shop.jbhifi.co.nz)?

Well, going by the ad I posted in Post #10 of this thread I guess so except the stated res is different.

Here's the DSE link (www.dicksmith.co.nz)

So it seems my local guy, if it is the same model, is offering quite a good price......
