1278577 2012-05-30 22:15:00 So my current main pc uses a Asus P5K Premium board with a core2 duo cpu on it, When I finish with the pc I turn it off at the wall but I seem to have an issue when I turn it back on it sometimes says that the clock is wrong, Normally I would say it was the CMOS battery however sometimes when it is turned on it does not have the error and the time in Windows is correct.
Any thoughts?

1278578 2012-05-30 22:19:00 What says the clock is wrong? The BIOS or windows? If windows says its wrong, I would check the time in the BIOS. And make sure the timezone is NZ in windows Speedy Gonzales (78)
1278579 2012-05-30 22:39:00 When I start and it works bios does not say date/time error.
When it does not work bios says I must set date and time.

1278580 2012-05-30 22:40:00 Sounds like you CMOS battery could be on it's way out. Get a new one to test, they are only a couple of bucks. trig42 (11325)
1278581 2012-05-30 22:44:00 Really? I thought when it was on its way out it would not hold any date/time info nedkelly (9059)
1278582 2012-05-30 22:55:00 Have you tried not turning it off at the wall? In any case the battery is the most likely suspect, if you have a multimeter take it out and measure the voltage.
They should be cheap enough so I'd replace it anyway. Batteries can "recover" a bit when taken off load so it might depend how long you leave it turned off if it's nearly flat. I have seen motherboards with rechargeable cmos batteries as well, but not for a few years now.

1278583 2012-05-30 22:58:00 well last night it did not ask for date and time at 9.30 when I turned it on turned it off at 11.30 at the wall, woke up this morning turned it on 8.40 and it errored out asking me for date and time to be confirmed. nedkelly (9059)

1278586 2012-05-31 06:00:00 If the battery is marginal it's probably supplying enough power only sometimes Agent_24 (57)
