19335 2001-09-24 03:16:00 Hey, I've just come from this website www.cdrinfo.com

Where it tells you how to change your HP8250i into a faster model, by way of a firmware update. What do u experts think, will it work???

19336 2001-09-24 04:02:00 The hardware companies are knowen to package faster products as slower ones to reduce costs. Intel has also done this before (486SX vs DX and some celerons).

If you can flash the drive back then you could try it.
But there is still the risk that you won't be able to go back.
Its really your call.

19337 2001-09-24 09:40:00 you should be careful though. If your drive is under warranty, Flashing it will void the warranty. Guest (0)
