| 19356 | 2001-09-24 11:34:00 | Has anybody else noticed that replies to posts don't always come up on the responses counter at the moment? Refresh doesn't help and even exiting the browser and logging on again doesn't alway show the new post. But!!! If you open the original post you will find all the answers there. This problem could leave a newbie thinking that nobody answered. Billy T |

| 19357 | 2001-09-24 12:28:00 | its fairly normal. theres usealy a delay before it appears. it also explains why some people do mulitiple posts. depending on how much loading is on the sever some posts can take 30min or more to appear. compared to other forums (including ones hosted on free servers) this forum has always been a tad slow. the only werid thing of late is that some posts appear hours late, even after more recent posts have been shown. its not uncomman to scroll down the page through some old posts to see a new one appear. |

| 19358 | 2001-09-26 01:16:00 | Hi Bill I do the admin for PressF1. The home page is cached for fifteen minutes to lower the workload on the server. New posts or responses will show there WITHIN fifteen minutes of posting. I've changed the intro on the home page to explain this but you've made a valid point and I will change it so a 'thanks for posting' page pops up after a submit explaining the delays and providing some navigation options. This page was once there but seems to have vanished in the redesign. Apologies for that and thanks for the message. James |
