| 19236 | 2001-09-22 11:47:00 | Hi, can anyone give me advice on how to set up IP Printing? So far I have setup 2 Kyocera Network printers with IP addresses. They have built in NIC. Both printers can be pinged from the NT4 Server and from Workstations. TCP/IP Printing Service has been installed and starts automatically. It's the next part that won't work.... I create a new Local Port and give it an IP Address of a Printer, then I install the Printer's Driver. Everything looks OK but it will not print a Test Page. I can Install the printer on a Workstation as a network printer but when I try to print test page nothing happens. When I try to pint from Word 2000, it looks like it is printing but finishes up in the spooler. The printers also have a Monitor Program that detects the Prnters and their IP Addresses OK and shows their status etc, but I cannot add the Monitor, when I click on New Monitor, nothing happens. I am lost now. Where have I gone wrong. Is there something missing I should be doing?? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks. |

Also frame type needs to be the same on both my printer and nic settings. This could possibly be some help to your situation. | Guest (0) | ||

| 19240 | 2001-09-23 03:15:00 | Hi, Thanks for the replies. Both printers are shared with full permissions. There is nothing showing up in the Events Log. Not sure what you mean by 'frame'. ? When the printers are installed, and I choose 'Print a test page' it behaves like it is printing but the 'data' LED on the printer does not light up and it does'nt print. 'Pause Prining' is NOT on. I can't make any sense of the 'monitor' business either! Is there any other kind of port I should be using instead of 'local port' witha designated IP address? Thanks in anticipation. | Guest (0) | ||
