| 19498 | 2001-09-27 10:04:00 | I have just assembled a P C using the Athlon 266BUS 1.330MHz processor. The diagnostics reveal a CPU temperature of 62C and a System temperature of 30C. Is this within acceptable range or does it need better fan/heatsink than the one supplied? |

| 19500 | 2001-09-28 05:19:00 | Hello Trevor, You should be operating more in the 48C - 52C range on that machine, it is unlikely that a heatsink/fan alone will provide enough cooling for this to happen, look at installing a couple of extra case fans to rectify the problem ( one at the front one at the back) most new cases come with holes etc already in place for this type of installation and the cost should be around $30.00 Alan |
