| 19489 | 2001-09-27 06:23:00 | One site on the web has changed my home page to be their site. And they disabled the button for change home pages to default or whatever. The worse is that my regedit and regedt32 all have been disabled and I have no access to my registry.I didn't find any virus in my computer with latest updates. Anyone can help? I'm using W2K professional. | Guest (0) | ||

| 19491 | 2001-09-27 22:34:00 | Thanks a lot Ian. My homepage came back to default ones but I could not change to other sites now and whenever I restart the computer. I have to do the same thing again. | Guest (0) | ||

If you still don't have access then try running the system policy editor (poledit.exe), this can be found on the windows CD and will allow you to restore rights to access the registry. One you have run regedit, go to the key: My Computer \ HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Main and change the key 'Start Page' to your prefered home page. |
