19720	2001-10-01 07:00:00	it says: 'Long Filename Backup', then large red X and:'Bad Command Line Format' and then 'OK'. This box opens every time that the computer is started. Question: how do I get rid of it?	Guest (0)
19721	2001-10-01 08:23:00	I don't know what it is but you should be able to disable it from startup. Run MSCONFIG from Start-Run. Under the startup tab uncheck everything except Explorer and Systray. Then restart. If its gone you can start rechecking entries until you find the problem one.	Guest (0)
19722	2001-10-02 02:26:00	hi John, I could only guess that somewhere in your boot sequence the 'lfnback' utility is being launched. This strange beast is used to backup your long filenames before manipulating files with tools that only support 8.3 filenames. As to why it would be loading in your startup sequence I don't know. Try running 'Sysedit' and look for the line that launches the util. You can insert REM in the front of the command to prevent it running, or else you can delete it altogether if you are brave.
