| 19709 | 2001-10-01 00:47:00 | I am running windows 98 second edition. on rebooting the comp after installing norton antivirus 2001, the system hangs, leaving me with a black screen. After rebooting in safe mode, and uninstalling the app, everything is fine again. Is there a fix for this or do I need to get a different brand?. I like symantec products, but this one is more trouble than its worth. thanks. |

If the computer starts up successfully then try placinging a shortcut to autoprotect in the windows start up group. I have had this problem with an older version of Norton Antivirus and it turned out that autoprotect was conflicting with a system resource at startup. |

I had a similar problem with someone who sold what he believed was a full version for winME when what he got was an upgrade. It appeard to install OK until he restarted with similar results ==Orac== |
