| 19575 | 2001-09-28 11:29:00 | would anyone know if it is possible to capture a sound from a sound card to start a timer? in particular I want to be able to measure the time period between clock ticks (I have a suitable microphone) oscilloscope software dosnt seem to be satisfactory. perhaps a software analogue to digital converter? any help in the right direction would be much appreciated. |

If you are wanting to automate something based on the tick frequency, then you will probably have to do some programming yourself, it seems like a custom job. If its possible, instead of having a clock tick, you could try a switch and some sort of interface card. This would save a lot of processing and be more reliable. |
