19566 2001-09-28 09:44:00 How can I find out who the manufacturer of my CDRW is. It is a BTC CD Writer IDE8432 I was told when I bought it that it was preddy much just a Sony, but when I looked on a website it said that it was a Philips. Is there a program I can download that will tell me?

Help much appreciated

19569 2001-09-29 23:41:00 Most CD Writing programs have a section which tells u what brand the writer is EG in ECDCreator go to CD in the top bar then info and it tells all. In CDRWin and Clone CD they both identify your CD and CDRW during the operation of the program. Its best to stick to the correct Firmware for the brand as whilst the guts may be the same the firmware can be quite different and if u are not familiar with doing this its best left alone. Guest (0)
