19849 2001-10-02 11:33:00 Hi Ross,
check the size and format of the attachment you're trying to send. I scanned a whole heap of stuff the other day to email to somebody, went to email and realised that all my pics had been saved as .bmp for some reason, and so they were huge. Went back and scanned them as .jpg or .gif (can't remember which) and those were much smaller, and sent much quicker (I had cancelled the first send after a few minutes! second attempt was a few seconds LOL).
Before you send, check to see how big the email is, including the attachment (I think there's an option in Outlook Express somewhere... go into Outbox, and see if you can add a column in there that'll show the email size. Try to make that as small as possible).

good luck

19850 2001-10-02 12:11:00 When your sending an e-mail remember that it takes the person on the other end just as long to download the thing, even if they don't want it.

I would make sure that the person wants the pictures, as they can still be quite big, even then they are converted to JPG.

19851 2001-10-02 19:35:00 Also if the other person only wants to see them on their monitor, and not print them out, then make sure they are only 72dpi, this looks good enough on monitors. Guest (0)
19852 2001-10-02 22:10:00 Great advice guys

save them as jpeg as this is the best format for Photo's Gif is better for Graphics

you may want to look at a program from Ulead photoimage
which cuts the photo's down in size have a look at my son's site www.bennett.net.nz The graphics are gif and the photo's are jpeg
