| 19935 | 2001-10-03 09:37:00 | hi, regarding a reply about personal firewalls you made in a recent post: You mentioned turning off the Zonealarm startup (splash) screen when it loads. How would I go about doing this? Cheers for the help. GP |

| 19937 | 2001-10-03 12:00:00 | Go to the folder, where you have the startup link for zonealarm. If you run ZA at startup it should be found in Windows\All Users\Startmenu\Programs\Startup. Or do a start find for file, name: zonealarm (no extension). This should find all the existing shortcuts. Cannot be wrong if you change the path in all shortcuts. You can do it right there in the window with the search results. Rightclick on the link, choose properties and change the program path as follows ( Maybe best to just leave the existing program path as it is, and just add the -nopopup -nosplash, as your path might vary, depending on installation). Example: C:\Program Files\ZoneLabs\ZoneAlarm\zonealarm.exe -nopopup -nosplash Or write it like that: 'C:\Program Files\ZoneLabs\ZoneAlarm\zonealarm.exe' -nopopup -nosplash Make sure there is a free space after exe or ' and after nopopup. thanks go to heaps of regulars at news.grc.com |
