| 20212 | 2001-10-06 01:00:00 | Have you thought of removing first time visitor frustration? and putting a note on the index page that it takes a few minutes for a posting to be listed on the index page, so that is why some problems by the same name get repeated only minutes apart. Unless of curse you are interested in learning how many new comers are coming to your web site to post problems, in which case I am sorry to be a dick head teacher. |

| 20213 | 2001-10-06 02:16:00 | What a strange sobriquet Richard (or do you prefer Dick?) but there is a point here. I also notice that even when the new post comes up very quickly, the number of posts is sometimes not updated for several hours which leads browsers (people not programs) to think that nothing has been added to a post when in reality there can be several new comments there to read. The other useful advice to new users would be to regularly delete your temporary internet files via Tools/Internet Options because otherwise your browser will retrieve the old page from memory and the updates won't appear. Failure to update seems to be a problem even if you refresh the page or exit the site and reopen it. Never apologise for your input Richard. The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked. | 20215 | 2001-10-06 05:44:00 | Hi tweak'e, you might very well laugh it this, but it might go in the believe or not files, when I first made a post, I read what you just said the I went to http://www.idg.net.nz/ thinking that was the home page, (well at any normal web site it would be) then as you might guess gave up on the idea thinking OK someone is just having a bit of fun with us. Would it be better to have,, New messages and responses refresh and are visible on ''THIS'' page ''MAY TAKE UP TO '' 15 minutes of posting. |

| 20216 | 2001-10-07 03:00:00 | Richard, I guess the question has already been answered. I had the same problem for a while, but luckily never posted a reply twice (I don't think). But luckily never posted a reply twice (just kidding). Better luck next time, anyway. Rob C. |
