20274 2001-10-06 06:08:00 hi i have a microstar MS-5124 motherboard with a intel pentium 75Mhz model SZ994 cpu chip. at the moment i've overclocked it to 100? but i'm wondering if it's possible to go any further 150? 133? 150? I want to overclock without buying things such as larger heat sinks and other things. but most importantly, i would like it to be stable. hopefully, it'll be ok going the maximum the motherboard supports (which is 166). if not then what can i go up to? 20276 2001-10-06 06:30:00 Why don't you crank it up to 166mhz and let us all know how it goes.

I'd sure be interested

20277 2001-10-06 06:36:00 Ahh me again--== perhaps you had better hold your hair dryer onit; set on cold of corse Guest (0)
20278 2001-10-06 06:37:00 i don't mean to be rude but why not just try it?? try it at the next setting, see if it runs stable, check how hot it is when playing a game. if it goes unstable or starts getting to hot drop it back a step. Guest (0)
20279 2001-10-06 06:40:00 TO go any higher you will need heat sinks etc, and even then it may not work.

You've gained 33%, quit while you ahead.

Although, you may want to check how how its running at 100 with a standard heat sink.

20280 2001-10-06 07:00:00 How much ram have you got in that machine, wouldn't that be a safer way to go.
What exactly do you want to use this computer for?

20282 2001-10-06 07:12:00 Or, be like me and set your processor on fire. (my ol' 75mhz) Guest (0)
20283 2001-10-06 07:31:00 me again again i no what/you could put the computor in the fridge and drill a hole in the side of the frige for the kable

then when you change a disk u can get a cold bear at the same time/that wont cost any $bucks
