20473	2001-10-07 22:20:00	IM SURE IVE SEEN THIS DONE BEFORE BUT DONT KNOW HOW....IN DOS MODE YOU CAN CREATE A LIST OF YOUR EXISTING FILES WHICH YOU CAN THEN TURN INTO A WORD OR NOTEPAD DOCUMENT SO YOU CAN MAKE A PRINT OUT OF THOSE FILES.. VERY HANDY FOR CATALOGING MP3 DISCS... OR OTHER FILES FOR REFERENCE ON CD COVERS ETC...ANYONE KNOW HOW TO? OR IS THERE ANOTHER WAY IT CAN BE DONE. THANKS IN ADVANCE.	Guest (0)
20474	2001-10-07 23:05:00	For MS Dos commands the following site is very good: www.computerhope.com As for printing directories try rjhExtensions 1.3 (www.rjhsoftware.com). Its free and will add a number of useful functions to the context menu of Windows Explorer, which you can turn on and off depending on which ones you want. One of the options is: Print directory list. This prints a list of the names and, optionally, the details of all files in the selected directory and, optionally, subdirectories. HTH	Guest (0)
20475	2001-10-07 23:15:00	This can be done from the DOS prompt by typing 'dir /s > index.txt', this will output a list of files and sub directories and store them in index.txt. There are many other commercial and freeware programs available to do this on the internet One good one, CDScan 1.0b, can be downloaded from the PCWorld file world (idg.co.nz).	Guest (0)
20476	2001-10-08 06:57:00	'dir /s' will give a list of every file (except hidden ones) on your system. To get just MP3s use something like, dir C:\*.mp3 /s > c:\mp3s.txt btw, 'SHOUTING' doesn't make people more likely to answer you (or whatever your reason), it just annoys the people who do read it.
