| 20470 | 2001-10-07 21:22:00 | I have a machine (pentium 166)that has stopped responding. On power on the keyboard lights flask and the cpu fan starts (runs from m/b) Nothing else happens. On removing memory there is no beep. Have cleared cmos. Have tried alternative power supply, memory and bios. Any further ideas? |

| 20471 | 2001-10-07 21:44:00 | Could be that a boot ROM chip has died. This happened to the MB of a P166 MMX I had - this meant the end of the road as replacement boot ROMs were unavailable. If anyone has a spare socket 7 MB which is MMX capable the above machine may live again!! |
