20344 2001-10-06 14:04:00 I use Win98. Whenever I go to the Windows directory I get a warning about how I shouldn't be here and no folders/files are displayed. Even after I say to show me anyway, coming here again gives the same message!
How can I get rid of this?
Thanks!

20345 2001-10-06 14:24:00 ...here's a 'quick & dirty' way of doing so:

Open Windows Explorer and click on the 'View' button, then uncheck 'View as a Web Page'.

On the same menu list, click on 'details'.

However, if you are familar and comfortable with what you have, you may not like the new look.

T'was just a suggestion.

Cheers !!!

20346 2001-10-06 21:11:00 To prevent this message from being displayed on your Windows 98-based computer, rename the existing Folder.htt file located in the Windows and Windows\System folders to Folder.bak, and then copy the Folder.htt file located in the Windows\Web folder to the Windows and Windows\System folders.

NOTE: The Folder.htt file has the hidden attribute. Verify that you can view hidden files on your Windows 98-based computer.
