20599 2001-10-08 22:20:00 I have lost the preview of graphics files in Win Explorer for jpeg files - other formats are fine.

Any ideas how to get them back - I find them useful.

20600 2001-10-09 00:29:00 When you click an image icon in Windows Explorer, the picture preview may not be displayed in the left pane. This behavior can occur if the file association for the type of file that you are trying to preview has been changed by a third-party program.

To resolve this issue, verify that the following registry entries (to run regedit go to Start / Run / type regedit) exist for the type of file that you are trying to preview:

Registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ filetype \ ShellEx \ {BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}

Value: (Default)='{7376D660-C583-11d0-A3A5-00C04FD706EC}'

where file type = jpg / jpeg

Before making any changes backup the registry.

NOTE: Previews are available only if you have the View As Web Page option enabled for the folder that contains the image file.

20601 2001-10-09 00:48:00 I had this problem after installing some old software and couldnt even get help from Microsoft at the time..I should have tried PressF!.

The solution was simple .Do a repair if IE. You'll find this in Control Panel, Add/remove Programs. Click on Microsoft IE and dont worry It wont delete, It gives you a choice to repair it.

Hope this helps, else go for the changes in registry
