20560 2001-10-08 11:14:00 Why does a brand new computer from the P.C. company which has Windows XP on it will not closed down.I expect the PC company would have checked the computer before they sent it. Is it a software fault or just that XP is a dud.

20561 2001-10-08 12:23:00 Sorry, I can't help with this one, but I suggest if this is a brand new computer take it back to PC Company, or ring them up, and get them to fix it. Guest (0)
20562 2001-10-08 19:09:00 Do you mean shut down? Whenever I go to shut down on my computer (WinXP) it restarts. Guest (0)
20563 2001-10-08 20:46:00 Right Click on My Computer -
Properties - Advanced Tab - Start Up - Settings and uncheck the box marked
'Resart on Error'. This should stop the reboot and let you see the BSOD
causing the problem. If you're running Direct CD it is a known fault.
