disk.Ihave tried allsorts and many disks but it almost goes

20884 2001-10-10 06:16:00 1.38, actually :-)
Once windows has formatted the disk, that is all the room you have. Try Winzip.

Have you tried formating the floppy. Right click it in windows explorer and select format, then click on the 'full format' option.

Failing that, try WinZip. This may reduce the file enough to fit it on one floppy, or you could use WinZip to span it over 2 floppys.

20886 2001-10-10 07:06:00 I usually take a look at the file list and leave out the reg/help/readme/other blurb files that are not part of the app. They can be added later if needed after installation. Otherwise zip it.

20887 2001-10-10 08:47:00 Well, there's more than one way of formatting a floppy. There were various dos utilities for formatting to greater than 1.44MB and much faster too, but they're no good with long file names! :-(

There is however a good Win9x formatting utility that will format a 1.44MB floppy to 1.68MB DMF.
This should solve your problem and is a useful utility in its own right, quite a bit faster than the windows formatting tool.

You can get it from Simtel at:

www.simtel.net

It is called mxfrm112.zip.
Cheers
