20922 2001-10-10 10:43:00 I seem to randomly get this message (or variation of it)

The instruction '0x100110b3' referred memory '0x0000000'. The meemory could not be 'read'.

Somthimes this will happen when I save a file in Excel, sometimes when I try to open a Jpgeg file. Somtimes the Norton scan picks up a registry error and corrects that error....and sometimes it does not and the problem persists.

I am running Windows 2000 on IBM Thinkpad 570E with Pentium 3.

Any suggestions would be very welcome

20923 2001-10-10 11:21:00 Hello PJ,

Your problem seems to be memory related, either dodgy ram or just to many resources being used for the tasks you are trying to perform.
As a first step have a look in the taskbar and see how many programmes you have autorunning, try cutting down on most of them and see if the problem goes away, if it does, problem solved if not get your ram checked out.

20925 2001-10-10 19:35:00 Hello PJ,

You can download any of a number of ram checking utilities from the net, or take it to any PC shop who would be able to verify it for you at minimum cost.
