1280736 2012-06-09 12:38:00 I normally use HP servers in small business and am interested in any comments on the Acer AT310.
Looking for a server to virtualize Exchange and a backup Domain Controller. Normally use a HP ML350 or similar but the Acer is cost efficient. Exchange would have about 150 mailboxes with only 20 used regularly.
Exchange is currently running on an old AMD box with 2Gb memory so not using huge resources.

1280737 2012-06-09 13:07:00 HP offer pretty darn good warranty service, and their stuffs really reliable so it doesn't actually break down that often. Chilling_Silence (9)
1280738 2012-06-10 04:48:00 Yea, I guess you'll get what you pay for. You can't really beat HP in service when stuff does break if you have warranty. WarNox (8772)
1280739 2012-06-10 06:14:00 Seriously? Anyone would consider Acer for servers? pctek (84)
1280740 2012-06-10 08:22:00 Think i'd only consider IBM or HP server wise my self. When it breaks saving a few hundred bucks seems much less important. Personally I've have no experience with Acer enterprise gear, and there is nothing to say its not perfectly fine, but i'd be checking you had a local agent etc for if it does break. Alex B (15479)

1280743 2012-06-12 09:38:00 HP, Dell, or IBM all make great servers with good support. My only experience with an Acer server was extremely negative, client went against advice & bought one anyway, client later apologised for poor choice. inphinity (7274)
