1279782 2012-06-05 09:32:00 how? I would if I could - thanks anyway jayal (1291)
1279783 2012-06-05 09:32:00 That file is a .net framework file. If one of their updates wont install, it usually means one of the .net framework installs are corrupt. I think that update is for 3.5. And the only way to fix it is to uninstall all of the .net framework installs. Or use this cleanup tool (blogs.msdn.com). Then reinstall all of them, then their updates again.

Or try this (social.msdn.microsoft.com). If you want to hide it (if its XP), you have to go to the windowupdate site check for updates click on the + beside it. You could try uninstalling .net framework 3.5 and its updates. Then reinstall the main 3.5 install file then its updates again

1279784 2012-06-05 09:34:00 To hide the update, you right click the update and click hide update. As easy as that:) stratex5 (16685)
1279785 2012-06-05 10:07:00 Thanks Speedy, I had trouble some time ago with .net, heaps of downloads refused to install, the help site eventually did as you suggested and fixed it so looks like I'll need to repeat the process, will do as you said -- and Stratex5, doesn't seem to respond to any kind of click, not to worry as you can see, I'll do as Speedy suggested jayal (1291)
1279786 2012-06-06 00:28:00 I have had a similar problem with .NET Framework updates in Windows 7. Windows update refused to install updates.

After reading this thread I decided to go into 'Programs and Features' and opt to do a 'repair'. After doing the repair I tried Windows update and lo behold the .NET Framework updates installed.

Thanks Speedy.
