2012-02-06 03:44:00 | I was looking for a password manager because I forget all the frickin passwords to some of my online sites. In a moment of weakness I d/l'ed Safewallet and installed it on the lappie - Win7. Can't uninstall it - no such program when looking in Control Panel, Revo Uninstaller sees nothing. Any other ideas. Secondly - a suggestion for a good pw manager, free, etc would be welcome sarel

2012-02-06 05:01:00 | have you tried using ccleaner, it has a removal option for programs as well. If it not showing under programs and features in W7 to remove, then its possible the install was bad. As for a password manager -- use a pen and notebook/ pad keep it in a safe place, less likely to corrupt and passwords get stolen. If the PC needs to be reinstalled or you have a HDD failure, then all the stored passwords are gone as well.

2012-02-06 05:16:00 | + 1 for Wainui's answer. I have around 40 different passwords on a list (paper copy) plus all on a flash drive, kept in a place in the house, separate from my computer. LL

2012-02-06 07:10:00 | Try google "how do I remove safewallet?" I used to use password safe, until one day I reinstalled windows without backing up passwords. Recommend paper backup. | nerd89 (14761) | |
2012-02-06 08:03:00 | Try google "how do I remove safewallet?". FYI -- Most of the removal procedures say you need to use certain uninstallers, one thats mentioned a lot is maxuninstaller which is paid software. There are some instruction about halfway down THIS PAGE (www.how-to-uninstall-program.com) on how to manually remove it, BUT if you are not comfortable editing the reg or manual removal of programs - then dont do it. If you do, make a backup / restore point of the reg first.

2012-02-09 12:09:00 | Hi Sarel :) My name is Amit and I'm part of the SafeWallet team. I read this thread and thought I might try and provide some more feedback - maybe I can help with this a bit. Technically, for SafeWallet installation we use NSIS installer (I believe this is the leading standard today for installers, or one of the few). The NSIS installer manage the installation process and also generates the automatic uninstall process - based on our instructions/scripting. As much as I can think of, the only reason I can think of that the uninstall wouldn't work smoothly (or won't show in the list of apps - as you've experienced) can be that something might have went wrong during the installation process (the uninstall is created during the installation). If something like this happens, my suggestion will be to try and re-install SafeWallet once again, on top of the currently installed version. Re-installing will basically just re-register the app in the installed apps list, which should also get it properly listed for uninstall this way. Since you already have SafeWallet installed, this shouldn't make any difference, but should fix any listing problem you might have with the uninstaller. Reading the thread I assume you already solved this one (sorry for the delayed reply :/ I only now noticed this thread), but maybe this reply will help others in the future (not only with SafeWallet - since this can most likely be applied to other apps too). Apart from this I'll be glad to hear more feedback why you chose to remove SafeWallet and see maybe these are things we can improve with our upcoming updates. We have lots of plans - and a lot more great things arriving. :) Have a great new day! :)
