1257268 2012-02-04 01:03:00 Hi all,

I'm a bit puzzled about a refund chq I just got in the mail from Telecom.
I haven't been a Telecom customer for a decade or so, and have definitely had no recent interaction with them.

My last contact being some years ago when all their contractors were on strike (and coincidentally had disrupted my phone line for the whole month of their strike).

Is this some very belated recompense for some Telecom misdeed?
There was no accompanying documentation with it, just a cheque with small print saying This is a Telephone Refund.

It has my name, address and ph number, but for a decade or so I've been with ihug/Vodafone.

Or could it be a payout of credit that was left on a now defunct cellphone network that's been retired?

Anyone getting cheques?

1257270 2012-02-04 02:45:00 Well, there's 5 characters that make up the value on the cheque, sadly one character is a decimal point, and two other characters are to the right of the decimal point. But I sure appreciate the sentiment.

The boxes on the cheque actually suggest they write cheques for tens of millions. Sadly they printed "ZERO" in that mega box on the far left.

1257273 2012-02-04 22:13:00 It blows me away the questions people ask here that could be easily resolved by contacting the company involved.

Ring Telecom and ask!

Im pretty sure Telecom has been fined recently and ordered to pay back customers for over charging/wrong metering of broadband. And from what I can remember it was a long time ago
