1257782 2012-02-06 07:15:00 Christians?

Those delusion judgmental hypocritical small minded fools that have condemned every single person who doesn't follow their perverse fantasies to eternal suffering?

Why would anyone care what they think?....they are mad. Best you can do is tell your kids that they are sick and its best to avoid them.

Not only Christians, Mets. Just about every organised religion there is out there.

It's big business. The Roman Catholic church reportedly took in around US$89 billion last year. Not to mention an upstart local "bishop" jumping on the bandwagon, too.

And all on the promise of eternal salvation, that no-one can challenge because the almighty tends to be reticent on the subject, choosing to neither confirm nor deny, by and large reigning in his/her thunderbolts, pestilence and other assorted weaponry.

1257783 2012-02-06 07:20:00 Whats the matter with offending people?

I'm sure some pressf1 users are offended by my post, I doubt it gives them cancer.

She's the one person I REALLY don't want to offend :p

If the almighty could be confirmed to exist, he would have to be made out of stuff that could be confirmed to exist ie, ordure

1257785 2012-02-06 07:29:00 I for one beetle support single mums, just check my avatar. But seriously why would you even bother or care what others like that think of you. That's the sort of people not worth having around plod (107)

But isn't that playing into the hands of organised religions - those that rely on the threat of hell and damnation to keep the faithful, well faithful.

And having clocked up 2 SWMBOs and by extension 2 mothers-in-law, I'm personally certain the almighty is a she.

1257787 2012-02-06 07:36:00 You know your kids love you, single parent or not, if you go to bed knowing you have done everything you can for your kids then who gives a **** what some gimp says. I have had a similar conversation that only last a few sentences before the gimp suddenly felt the need to leave quickly. rob_on_guitar (4196)
1257788 2012-02-06 07:37:00 One should not judge Christians by Americans...

You what?

Should I take offense at your judgement of my abilities to view the world around me?

I assure you the Americans didn't cloud my view in the slightest, Nope, The locals are all crazy enough.

I do know of a local uproar because a local mum had a different last name then her two children, all of a sudden the welcoming and loving Catholics treated her like a whore and her children like lepers, and tried to force them all into intensive counseling within the church.

They of course took plan B and ran for the hills.....Much better then accepting the poison.

1257789 2012-02-06 08:13:00 Why you ask.............. because when you child comes home in tears because she felt an outsider at a youth camp that was meant to be a fun and loving environment, you know the ones that have mud runs, and water fights and spot lighting etc.........all good clean moral fun......
Having to explain to the leaders at that camp......that you feel strongly that you need to take said child home......... early. because even to me they implied when i said about single parenting, it was my choice, and mine alone, and teaching my child right and wrong..........attitudes changed.

But the weekend was focused around religion, church, etc and families and building strong relationships........ sigh, but the one thing my daughter heard constantly was whole families........ they seem to be a driving topic at the camp. Ive never had it pointed out quite so forcefully to me or my children that i dont measure up.......

I was angry as......... they hurt my child, she will no longer be going to that group......... their sheltered, or tunnel vision ideas have killed all kindness and happiness we had from that group in the past, means the end is here.

1257790 2012-02-06 08:31:00 An ha, the good old Christian youth groups. Yes their definitely tell you there Christian values, and in a perfect world a two parent family would be ideal. And to be perfectly honest you can't expect much more from them. That is the price of sending children to a camp, you get a breathe and in return their take your kids and do some mellow brain washing. I speak from experience having been sent to said camps when I was a child. plod (107)
1257791 2012-02-06 08:42:00 Its sad because she has been going to this youth group for a few years now and its the first time we've felt inferior...
My son had been all keen to start attending it as well, and i had thought it was a good place for learning right and wrong, and morals....
Maybe i was wrong......... the brain washing has always been there, just in a very mild form....
