| 1280056 | 2012-06-07 01:27:00 | Hi, Asking this on behalf of a friend who recently acquired a wifi-only iPad 2 . She has a laptop running Windows 7, and uses 2degrees USB modem for internet access . I looked on the internet to make the laptop a wifi hotspot, and enable the iPad to access internet this way . One suggestion was to set up an ad-hoc network . I tried turning it on, and setting up a network name, and password . We could see that network on the iPad under wifi, but when entering in the password a small window pops up saying error connecting - no other details . As per the suggestion instructions, I made sure the 2degrees stick was enabled for sharing by other users . . . restarted laptop, and iPad too . Where are we going wrong? She can't get 2degrees' share data thing as the USB stick is on prepay . Is there another way to do this? We would greatly appreciate something easy to follow (as she is no IT expert), as I would be emailing through to her the instructions as not sure when I will next see her . Thanks in advance! |

I have suggested she looks into something like this, thank you! You're right this would be useful when she is out and about. |
