21262	2001-10-13 12:14:00	okay this site: perso.club-internet.fr is supposed to have utilities to flash the ROM of the drive to both upgrade, and if you want to (duh) set to region free. however when I just checked the site it didn't fully load, so dunno if its still working. It was about 3 weeks ago ;o) Be very careful though, cause if you flash the ROM and it doesn't work, you've probably also voided any warranty, so will have to pay to get it fixed :( PowerDVD is definitely the best software DVD player I've seen. I haven't seen v3 yet, but my v2.5 or whatever works brilliant... better than WinDVD	Guest (0)
21263	2001-10-13 20:35:00	Making DVD drive zone free is not the only trick here, you may need to change the region code of your software DVD player as well to play DVDs from around the world. Try DVD Genie from http://www.inmatrix.com If you decide to use a Decoder card like Hollywood Plus, Zoneselector from www.altern.org works very well.	Guest (0)
21264	2001-10-14 07:35:00	Try www.digital-digest.com I don't see much difference between WinDVD & Power DVD as far as performance goes. I have both but when I updated WinDVD (Ver 2.1) off the net it insisted DMA was not enabled so I removed the update. I use WinDVD because the player buttons on my Microsoft keyboard won't work with PowerDVD.	Guest (0)
