21243 2001-10-12 21:49:00 Hi
I am getting an invaild system disk error at book up. There is no floopy disk in the a: drive. At this stage if I hit reset the machine still boots and runs. I have ran scan disk with no errors.

Could this be the start of a hard drive failure?

Cheers

21246 2001-10-12 23:11:00 You're able to boot okay after restarting? Sounds to me like it could be a virus that's infected your master boot record. Perhaps if you can get in, do a full system virus scan using the latest definitions. Guest (0)
21247 2001-10-12 23:13:00 Also, try doing a full thorough scandisk scan (it'll probably take hours...) that might find any problems with the actual disk. Guest (0)
21248 2001-10-12 23:57:00 I have tried all of the above options and still no answer. Its weird as it seems to be only the first boot of the day. If I shut down for a few hours then crank up there is no problems.
