21538 2001-10-15 19:40:00 Yeah, even the smallest request for data from a cd-drive will cause your cd-drive to spin up. eg, when you go to save as, in a windows app, even though you want to save onto C:\ - it will spin up the cd to get the title of the drive etc. Guest (0)
21539 2001-10-17 01:11:00 Windows has the annoying habit of wanting to interogate every device attached to it whenever you do anything in Explorer, and other programs. This includes looking at the CD rom drive. If you eject the CD before it has finished its interogating, you'll get the blue screen of death.
