21548	2001-10-15 22:19:00	We are often told that VBS is a window for virus activity and that it is a good idea to not have it installed. Many sites, including your own, ask for VBS to be downloaded in order to view pages. Given we have up to date virus protection, is it safe to load VBS or is there an alternative to VBS, and how do you install it?	Guest (0)
21549	2001-10-15 22:31:00	Most computers come with VBS pre-enabled anyway. As long as you have an up-to-date virus checker, you should be alright. Internet Explorers Install-On-Demand should ask whether or not you would like to install it, and just click ok, and it will 'do it's thing'.	Guest (0)
21550	2001-10-16 00:03:00	One of the easiest safety precautions you can take with .vbs files, is to associate them with notepad. You can do this by holding down shift while you click on a .vbs file, selecting open with checking the box that says always open files of this type with.. and then select notepad and click ok. This will not effect any programs that actually need to use vbs files as they will 'know' which program to run them with, however most malicious vbs files rely on the user accidently double clicking them believing them to be some other file type, when this happens now, it will harmlessly open in notepad instead of trashing your system.
