21483 2001-10-15 06:39:00 I am currently using Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6.0.2600.0000 to surf the net. But after clicking and visting one or two sites a fatal blue screen appear stating that:

A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C155733 in VXD MCSCAN32(01) + 000278A3. The current application will be terminated.

At this point, I press any keep to continue then another blue screen would appear:

A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 05D8:0147268B. The current application will be terminated.

Then I click on any keep to continue but another blue screen would appear:

A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0167:BFF9DFFF. The current application will be terminated.

After this point, everything would be frozen and nothing will work (the keyboard nor the mouse).

Please help....

21484 2001-10-15 07:08:00 I would tell you to go to Add/remove programs, and then select Internet Explorer, and go to repair.

The 2600 in the file name, are you running WinXP? 'coz if you are, IE won't be in the add/remove list.

21485 2001-10-15 08:05:00 nah, the 2600 in the name is the one on the download from the MS site... I downloaded it, and just looked at my version and its the same one Guest (0)
21486 2001-10-15 08:32:00 Hi Michael,
IE is not at fault here. You need to obtain SP1 for McAfee. It corrects this problem.

21487 2001-10-16 04:30:00 What is a 'SP1' and how can I get hold of it? Guest (0)
21488 2001-10-17 05:04:00 I think it was trying to hint, very gently, in its userfriendly, intuitive manner, that there might be something wrong.:<). Looks as if you are in good hands with the experts. Guest (0)
