21357	2001-10-14 06:55:00	A friend has a 'new' computer loaded with the 'latest' version of Works. He sends Works documents as Insertions in email messages. When opened these documents appear in multipage code most of which is little squares and which are unreadable. 1. What is the name of this code and what is it. 2. Given that he does not have MS Word is there anything he can do to send these documents in a readable form apart from typing them as an email. (I have Word but cannot open these docs ). 3. If I send him a Works doc in RTF it seems he can open it. Why is this. With thanks.	Guest (0)
21358	2001-10-14 07:40:00	1. Dunno 2. RTF? 3. If he creates a document in Works, and saves it as RTF (Rich Text Format), this is effectively saving as a format other than works, which is why you can open it). The minimum program for RTFs' is Wordpad, included with Windows.	Guest (0)
21359	2001-10-14 08:51:00	...your friend can use their 'Save As' function on the File Menu to save the MS Works document in a variety of formats, including Word. Alternatively, they can use their 'Copy & Paste' function to place a copy of the document in e-mail. Hope this is of some assistance. Cheers !!! e_	Guest (0)
