| 21752 | 2001-10-16 23:00:00 | We have installed Novell 4.1 as an exercise at Massey. The [root] is called DDC. When we turn on the server we get the following message: 'Synthetic time is being issued on partition 'DDC'.Does anyone know what this is - we are working on 486s.... |

I seem to recall that on a giveaway CD I have, with a free intsall of Novell 4.1 there is a large section devoted to things called 'Manuals'. I know that the concept is new to many people, but many things to do with computers are not intuitive, easy, and user-friendly. This especially applies to everything to to with networks. They are obscure, difficult, and user-hostile. The way to achieve things is to READ THE MANUALS.If you are very lucky, the manuals will help. There will certainly be an index pointing at the Error messages. Good luck. |
