| 22010 | 2001-10-19 22:46:00 | I want to buy a cd writer, but am confused. Should I buy internal, external. What speed. The faster the better, but the speed seems to vary between internal & external. Please point me in the right direction. Don't want to buy a dud and waste my money. | Guest (0) | ||

An internal gives better performance and you also don't have extra cables hanging around your desk. If you can afford it, get an HP CD-Writer of the 8000 series. If this is not an option then there are other brands that are cheaper that do a good job. If you need any more info and pricing details drop me a note on e-mail. michael@inside-job.co.nz |

Write speeds are currently up to 25x but I note that the cheap blank CDs are certified for 12x or 16x drives so I'd go for one of those. Also check the software that comes with it; Adaptec's Easy CD Creator is up to version 5 and is a good choice to look for. (If you are an Windows XP user, go to roxio.com for an essential compatibility patch) | Guest (0) | ||
