| 21882 | 2001-10-18 22:48:00 | Hi I am running windows 2000 on my computer, and it seems to have this little trouble. When ever i try to run some games (e.g. Mech warrior 4) it just bounces back to windows and sometimes it just restarts the computer. I have installed win2k service pack1, but didnt help solving it. I have newest version of Direct X 8.0, and newest drivers for all my hardwares. This is list of hardwares of my computer. Athlon Thunderbird 1.4ghz Joytech Geforce2 Pro 256mb DDR Ram proview 986xn monitor Abit Kg7-lite motherboard I dont know if it is problem with power setting in the bios or just windows 2000, so please let me know. |

| 21883 | 2001-10-18 23:23:00 | I have 2K as well and in my wanderings online finding fixes for game related problems have discovered that some games need to be run under the Administrator account to work properly. Try running the games concerned as administrator to see if that helps. Also install service pack 2 and any compatibility patches for 2K. Finally www.ntcompatible.com maintains a fairly good list of games found to be compatible with 2K so its worth checking that out too! | Guest (0) | ||
