| 1357030 | 2001-10-21 08:46:00 | I have been reading about Linux for a couple of years but all discussions are about it as an operating system. How do I actually DO stuff with it? Write letters; surf; play games? Will it run the fast old DOS sofware I use in my Office ? Will it run the hundreds of bits of (Windows) software, I've collected and the programs I've written In Basic and C ? An OS should just be THERE - not be a separate subject. |

There are a number of programs for word processing (eg Staroffice, Abiword, Wordperfect, KOffice). Browsers include Netscape, Mozilla, Konquerer. You may be able to compile your C programs for linux. |
