22185 2001-10-21 09:34:00 Has anyone installed this yet that might be able to answer this ?. According to the blurb, NAV2002 has automatic deletion, I know that 2000 and 2001 have this feature. I have just seen it installed on someones system, there was no options for automatically deleting virus's, just 3 options given, two of them centering around repair. I checked the help files, no mention there to automatically delete, especially email based infections and have been through the Options Setup line by line and still cannot find any mention of auto delete. Am I missing something here. Would be interested to know if auto deletion is in fact a feature as in 2000/2001 or not. Cheers. Guest (0)
22186 2001-10-21 10:16:00 Hello George,
If you run a index search under delete, NAV will explain exactly what happens, to save you the bother this is it, if you choose the automatic repair function NAV will try and repair the file in preference to deleting it, if it can't repair it you will then be given the option via a pop up box to delete or quarantine the infected file,
I think Norton's has probably renamed these functions on purpose, as before people would quite often be confronted with a virus, 'PANIC' and automatically delete it (causing problems with the software the virus had infected) when a repair would have been the better option.
Hope this clears things up for you.

22187 2001-10-21 20:38:00 One other problem not related to this is if you have check out going e-mail ticked as it is by default and you have a dial up modem and ony click send and recive to log on send and recive your e-mail, you out going e-mail will disapear int Nortons and not come out. It is fine if you go on and stay on line to send and recive. Guest (0)
